Gardening Waste — Ordinance Adoption
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt an Ordinance prohibiting gardening waste from being deposited into the public right of way.
BACKGROUND:
On November 4, 2024, the City Council introduced an Ordinance to amend San Mateo Municipal Code Chapter 7.32 "Garbage" to address gardening waste deposited in the public right of way. The proposed Ordinance is attached. If adopted, the Ordinance will become effective 30 days after its adoption.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no budgetary impact associated with this ordinance adoption.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:
This Ordinance adoption is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is an organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5).)
