San Mateo Police Sergeants’ Association — Memorandum of Understanding Changes RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution to amend the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the San Mateo Police Sergeants’ Association to clarify which premiums are included in the MOU overtime calculations.
BACKGROUND:
This Sideletter of Agreement was created to provide clarity that premium rates for employees who work in one of the following special assignments will be included in calculating the MOU overtime rate: Detective Division, Traffic Detail, Motorcycle Patrol Unit, Gang Detail Assignment, Support Services Sergeant, Youth Services Unit, Field Training Sergeant, and Police Administrative Sergeant.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The change in premiums included in the MOU overtime rate will have a minimal impact this fiscal year. Costs incurred in the current fiscal year can be accommodated in the Police Department’s operating budget using salary savings from vacant positions. Overtime will continue to be monitored, and adjustments will be made, if needed.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:
This Sideletter of Agreement is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is a government fiscal activity which does not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(4).)
