APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY O
F SAN MATEO AND THE SEIU MAINTENANCE LOCAL 521
WHER
EAS, the SEIU Maintenance Local 521 (SEIU Maintenance or Unit) and the City have negotiated changes to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Association; and WH
EREAS, the amendments are related to salary equity adjustments; and WH
EREAS, the parties have met and conferred, and have signed a Side Letter of Agreement to amend the Unit’s MOU.
NOW,
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA, HEREBY RESOLVES that:
1. This Side Letter of Agreement is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is a government fiscal activity which does not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(4).)
2. The amendments to the Memorandum of Understanding for the SEIU Maintenance, set forth in the Side Letter of Agreement attached as Exhibit A, are approved and summarized as follows:
Equity adjustments: The Side Letter of Agreement was created to provide additional compensation to the Traffic and Lighting Technician: 0.25%, Custodian: 2.46%, Maintenance Planner: 11.16%, Instrument Control Technician: 11.16% and the Wastewater Treatment Plant Electrical Technician:
11.16%.
2. The additional compensation will result in an annual increase of approximately $112,000, with $4,200 in the General Fund, $101,4000 in the Sewer Fund, and $6,400 in the Fleet and Facilities Fund.
