Agenda Number: 11 Section Name: {{section.name}} Account Number: 14-1311 File ID: {{item.tracking_number}} TO: City Council
FROM: Alex Khojikian, City Manager
PREPARED BY: City Manager's Office
MEETING DATE: May 05, 2025
SUBJECT:
385 2nd Avenue Lease Agreement Renewal – Reauthorization RECOMMENDATION:

Re-approve a lease renewal extending the term to March 31, 2026 with a one-year option for the property located at 385 2nd Avenue in the Main Street Garage with Elmer Vasquez and Anavela Vasquez with an initial base rent of $1,374.00 per month; and authorize the City Manager to execute the lease renewal in substantially the form presented.

BACKGROUND:

On March 17, 2025, the City Council approved a one-year lease extension with a one-year option for the property located at 385 2nd Avenue. However, the agenda report contained an administrative error, in that it incorrectly listed the parties to the lease as “Dagoberto Vasquez and Anavela Vasquez.” The name "Dagoberto Vasquez" was not accurate and should have instead stated, "Elmer Vasquez." The names and signatures on the document, which amends the existing lease, were correct. Staff recommends that the City Council reapprove the execution of the lease amendment, this time referencing the correct parties.

BUDGET IMPACT:

There is no budget impact from this agenda item.

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:

This item is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is an organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5).)
