ACCEPTING THE PUBLIC USE EASEMENT DEDICATION
FOR PEDESTRIAN AND PARKING ACCESS
FOR 200 N. QUEBEC ST, SAN MATEO
WHEREAS, Guy Fong (herein referred to as the “Applicant”) on November 11, 2023, submitted a planning application PA-2023-075 with the Planning Division for a Special Use Permit for property located at 200 N. Quebec Street to allow a community service use for a basketball training facility (collectively referred to as “Project”) in the City of San Mateo (“City”); and
WHEREAS, the planning application was entitled under Resolution No. 2 (2025) by the Planning Commission of the City of San Mateo, California, at a regular meeting held on February 25, 2025. Condition of Approval No. 4 for this project entitlement requires an easement dedication for pedestrian and vehicular parking access along Monte Diablo Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the offsite improvements include installation of seven parking stalls and relocating pedestrian sidewalk access. The total easement to be dedicated contains 1145 square feet, more or less, and will be 11.66 ft into the Project property line from the Public Right-of-Way along Monte Diablo Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA, HEREBY RESOLVES that:
1. The acceptance of this easement dedication is not a project for CEQA because it can be seen with certainty that it will not cause a physical change in the environment. (Public Resources Code 21065.)
2. The City Council accepts the dedication of a Public Use Easement and authorizes the City Manager to execute the dedication, in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A.
