City Council Appointments to External Agencies and Liaison Roles — Amendment RECOMMENDATION:
Review and provide direction to amend the Council Appointments list for 2025 to add a liaison to the San Mateo Police Activities League.
BACKGROUND:
On January 13, 2025 the City Council approved the 2025 appointments to external agencies and established Council liaison roles. At the July 28, 2025 City Council Regular Meeting, during Reports and Announcements, City Council directed staff to add an additional external liaison assignment to the list to include the San Mateo Police Activities League. During this discussion, the City Council can provide direction to indicate which member of the Council will serve in this capacity through the remainder of the calendar year. Thereafter, the San Mateo Police Activities League assignment will be included within future annual appointments to liaison roles.
Staff is also reviewing the inclusion of additional liaison roles, such as the Library Foundation and Park and Recreation Foundation for future inclusion. This will be brought forward during the 2026 review process.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no budgetary impact associated with this administrative action.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:
This appointments list approval is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is an organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5).)
