League of California Cities Annual Conference — Voting Delegate Designation RECOMMENDATION:
Designate Mayor Rob Newsom as the City's Voting Delegate and Council Member Nicole Fernandez as an alternate for the 2025 League of California Cities Annual Conference.
BACKGROUND:
The City is a member of the League of California Cities (League) and as part of its annual conference, a business meeting will be conducted on October 10, 2025, for the League membership to consider and act on resolutions that establish League policy. The City has one vote in the proceedings, and the City Council must designate a voting delegate to represent the City and may also appoint up to two alternate voting delegates, one of whom may vote in the event that the designated voting delegate is unable to serve in that capacity. The form designating the City's voting delegate is due to the League no later than September 24, 2025.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The City Council budget has sufficient funds to cover the costs associated with Mayor Rob Newsom's participation as a voting delegate at the League of California Annual Conference.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:
This action is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is an organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5).)
