Council discussed the request for consideration of a pre- qualification Ordinance raised by the Carpenter’ s Union during public comment. Councilmember Cwirko- Godycki inquired whether this ask can be folded into the Project Labor Agreement to be considered by the Council in November. City Manager Khojikian clarified that these items are separate projects and would include further scope. Staff confirmed that the City currently has pre- qualification requirements within its purchasing code and noted that identifying differences between the existing provisions and the newly proposed Ordinance would require further review. Staff reminded the Council that numerous Ordinance projects are already in progress and advised that this item would be placed on the “ Blue Sky” list for future consideration unless directed otherwise. The Council concurred with this approach and requested that staff provide a future synopsis clarifying how the proposed Ordinance differs from the existing Ordinance.
