CITY OF SAN MATEO
RESOLUTION NO. ____ (2025)
AUTHORIZING THE ADDITION OF 1.00 FULL TIME EQUIVALENT (FTE) HUMAN RESOURCE ANALYST AND 1.00 FULL TIME EQUIVALENT (FTE) PAYROLL TECHNICIAN I/II WHEREAS, the Human Resources and Finance Departments requests approval to add 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Human Resources (HR) Analyst and 1.0 FTE Payroll Technician to support the San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department (SMC Fire); and
WHEREAS, on July 28, 2025, City Council approved an updated agreement between the City of San Mateo SMC Fire for Finance and Human Resource Services; and WHEREAS, a third-party consultant conducted a study and recommended an additional two (2) FTEs in staffing to support SMC Fire; and
WHEREAS, the addition of these two (2) FTEs reflects the service levels needed to meet contract expectations between the City and SMC Fire; and
WHEREAS, the contract factors in the costs for these two (2) FTEs and the current year costs will be covered by additional revenues from SMC Fire; and
WHEREAS, the full cost of these two (2) FTEs will be included in adopted budgets moving forward NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA, HEREBY RESOLVES that:
1. This Resolution is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is a government fiscal activity which does not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(4).)
2. The addition of 1.0 FTE to Human Resources and 1.0 FTE to Finance is authorized.
