CITY OF SAN MATEO
RESOLUTION NO. __ (2026)
RECLASSIFICATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN POSITION TO HOUSING SPECIALIST II POSITION WHEREAS, pursuant to the San Mateo Municipal Code Section 2.57.030(d), approval of new classifications and related job specifications, salary schedules, compensation changes, elimination or reinstatement of positions, reallocation of positions, reclassifications, and revisions of job specifications must be approved by City Council Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the proposed changes as detailed below are in response to Community Development Department’s request to re-classify a vacant Administrative Technician position to a Housing Specialist II position within the Community Development Department; and
WHEREAS, the current position requires specialized program knowledge and independent judgment that more closely align with the duties and requirements of the Housing Specialist II classification; and WHEREAS, the employee association representing the impacted classification has been informed of the proposed change and has not brought forth any objections or concerns.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA, HEREBY RESOLVES that:
1. This reclassification is not a project subject to CEQA, because it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that it would have a significant effect on the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(3).)
2. A vacant Administrative Technician position in the Housing Division is re-classified to a Housing Specialist II position.
