4 Safety & Compliance
Carollo will conduct a workshop to verify that all City comments on the BODR submittal have been addressed.
* Odor Control Evaluation – For the odor control system, an initial evaluation will be conducted. This includes a review of existing drawings and data, preparation of an odor sampling plan, field sampling and testing, review and analysis of test data results, and preparation of three odor control alternatives.

The analysis will include a conceptual layout, Class V estimate and recommendations. The recommendation will lead to the odor control system basis of design development.

Task 2.3 Preliminary Design (30%)
The design activities and design elements will include initial design drawings, calculations, databases, specifications, cost estimates, schedule and any other project documentation to support this submittal and shall be at a 30% level of completion. The 30% design will include the flexibility for co-thickening including design and site requirements. A construction cost estimate (AACE Class 4) with a basis of estimate narrative, preliminary construction sequencing and schedule will be included with the deliverables. Construction sequencing and phasing constraints will include options for temporary operations to maintain thickening capacity during construction. Carollo’s Project Manager will ensure deliverables have been reviewed or otherwise checked in full conformance with the QA/QC Plan.

Carollo will then conduct a workshop to verify that all City comments on the 30% submittal have been addressed.

Task 3 – Project Detailed Design and Construction Documents Task 3.1 – 60% Design Development

Drawings for all disciplines will be substantially complete. Specifications will be substantially complete and include all sections and all divisions including the legal, procedural, and general “front end” sections. A construction cost estimate (AACE Class 2) with basis of estimate narrative (e.g., detailed takeoffs), construction sequencing plan and schedule will be included with the deliverables.

CONSULTANT hereby grants to City a waiver of any right to subrogation which any insurer of said CONSULTANT may acquire against the City by virtue of the payment of any loss under such insurance.

CONSULTANT agrees to obtain any endorsement that may be necessary to effect this waiver of subrogation, but this provision applies regardless of whether or not the City has received a waiver of subrogation endorsement from the insurer.

Deductibles and Self-Insured Retentions
Any deductibles or self-insured retentions must be declared to and approved by the City. The City may require the CONSULTANT to purchase coverage with a lower deductible or retention or provide proof of ability to pay losses and related investigations, claim administration, and defense expenses within the retention.

Acceptability of Insurers
Insurance is to be placed with insurers with a current A.M. Best’s rating of no less than A:VII, unless otherwise acceptable to the City.

Verification of Coverage
CONSULTANT shall furnish the City with original certificates and amendatory endorsements or copies of the applicable policy language effecting coverage required by this clause. All certificates and endorsements are to be received and approved by the City before work commences. However, failure to obtain the required documents prior to the work beginning shall not waive the CONSULTANT’s obligation to provide them. The City reserves the right to require complete, certified copies of all required insurance policies, including endorsements required by these specifications, at any time.
