BACKGROUND:
In November 2023, Ed Degliantoni, the City’s appointee to the San Mateo County Mosquito & Vector Control District Board of Trustees, formally submitted his resignation. Following his departure, the City Clerk’s Office conducted a recruitment to fill the vacancy. In September 2024, following an interview and recommendation by the Appointment Subcommittee, the City Council appointed Tolifili Fa to serve a two-year term through October 7, 2026.
With the expiration of the current term approaching, the City Clerk’s Office conducted a recruitment for the next term on the Mosquito & Vector Control District Board of Trustees. The City received four applications from Scott Michael Lee, Christina Galletti, Mina Yaroslavky Bressier, and incumbent Tolifili Fa.
Three of the four applicants moved forward in the process and were interviewed by the Appointment Subcommittee.
Tolifili Fa withdrew her application from consideration. Following the interviews, the Appointment Subcommittee considered the applicants’ qualifications, experience, and interest in serving as the City of San Mateo’s representative on the Mosquito & Vector Control District Board of Trustees.
