San Mateo Police Department Real Time Information Center — Presentation RECOMMENDATION:
Receive an informational presentation on the San Mateo Police Department Real Time Information Center.
BACKGROUND:
The San Mateo Police Department has made significant strides in establishing and expanding its Real Time Information Center (RTIC), a centralized hub that integrates real time information from multiple technology platforms to enhance situational awareness and support emergency response and City services.
Staff will provide an informational presentation on the RTIC, highlighting its purpose, capabilities, uses, and impact, supported by data and examples of significant cases. The presentation will also address community partnerships, proactive privacy protections, and how the Police Department continues to adapt its practices in response to evolving laws, regulations, technology, and community expectations to ensure these resources are used responsibly and effectively.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no budget impact associated with this informational update.
