RECOMMENDATION:
Receive the State Legislative Summary from California Public Policy Group.
BACKGROUND:
The City’s legislative consultant, California Public Policy Group (CPPG), provides regular updates on state legislative activities and developments that may impact the City of San Mateo (Attachment 1). These updates include the status of legislation of interest to the City, significant policy developments, and legislative matters relevant to local government operations.
The Legislative Committee will receive a summary of the 2025–2026 State Legislative Session, including an overview of legislation signed into law or vetoed by the Governor, the final disposition of bills on which the City established positions, and upcoming legislative milestones. The summary also provides an update on grant opportunities and funding applications being pursued on behalf of the City.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this informational report beyond existing staff time and resources.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:
This item is not a project subject to CEQA, because it is an organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. (CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5).)
