Attachments: New Vaccination Letter to Fee Classes 2022.docx Hello Ms. Gantt,
I would like to address the council regarding a letter I received from the Community Service/Recreating Department dated May 2, 2022 stating that all participants ages 5 ‐ 11 years have to be vaccinated against Covid‐19 in order to attend a city sponsored summer camp or classes.
This requirement is outside of the law and the council does not have authority to require anything that discriminates or excludes an individual from participation.
I have attached the letter for you to share with the council members.
Thank you,
Carol Cancilla, RN, BSN, PHN

Hello Class Participants,
At this time the City of San Pablo is still requiring all staff and patrons to continue wearing masks. As the California Department of Public Health states (CDPH) states, "Continuing to mask in indoor public settings remains the safest choice for an individual and protects those who are medically vulnerable or are not able to get vaccinated. For early education programs, such as preschool and childcare settings, CDPH continues to require masking for children older than age two. "
All participants attending City of San Pablo programs are still required to continue wearing an N95 or surgical mask to programs. Our staff will also continue to mask to provide the highest level of protection for our participants.
Members of the public participating in any City programs:
NEW VACCINATION REQUIREMENT
Below are the vaccination requirements to participate in any City program indoors or outdoors
1) Participants must show proof of vaccination to City staff before attending.
2) Youth ages 5 – 11 must have received their first dose of the COVID vaccine by May 31, 2022.
3) All participants ages 12 and up must be fully vaccinated.
Staff will need to see the vaccination card of each child aged 5 and up attending camp.
Please bring the vaccination card to the San Pablo Community Center during office hours Monday- Friday 9am-6pm. Show the card to the San Pablo Community Center staff and they will make a note that you have shown proof of vaccination and will be eligible to attend camp.
Please do not email or fax a copy as we need to see the card in person. If your child is not vaccinated and is still wanting to participate in our camp they can do so if they have their first dose by May 31, 2022 and complete their vaccination by July 1, 2022. Once they receive their first dose bring the vaccination card to the San Pablo Community Center as proof and once they are eligible for their second dose we need to see the updated vaccination card.
If your child is not 5 years old by May 31, 2022 you have 60 days after their 5th birthday to have them fully vaccinated and show proof.
Youth under 5 years of age (or minimum age for vaccinations) and those with a validated medical or religious exemption from COVID-19 vaccination are exempt from this requirement.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me via email at [email protected] or via phone at 510.215.3088.
