RESOLUTION 2023-###
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN PABLO APPROVING FY 20 23/24 FINAL SAN PABLO COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANT PROGRAM AWARD OF $7,500 TO WEIGH OF LIFE
WHEREAS, The Community Grant Program 501(c)(3) – Special Event Funding is an adopted policy item under the FY 2023-25 Council Priority Workplan, effective May 1, 2023;
WHEREAS, the City Council has appropriated $55,000 in discretionary funding as part of the Adopted Budget under the City Council Departmental Budget (100- 1110- 44050) to provide financial assistance to non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, and establish a FY 2023/24 Annual San Pablo Community Foundation Grant Program and all of those funds remain available;
WHEREAS, an addit ional $45,000 in grant funding has also been received to support the program from three outside sources as follows: the Lytton Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians who own and operate Casino San Pablo - $25,000; Republic Services, Inc., dba Richmond Sanitary Ser vices - $15,000; and a donation from the San Pablo Senior Advisory Board - $5,000;
WHEREAS, with combined funding from all sources, there is $ 100,000 in total program funding remaining available for the Annual San Pablo Community Foundation Grant Program for FY 2023/24;
WHEREAS, the City Manager and staff finalized all SPCF grant application guidelines and officially announced the availability of the FY 2023/24 SPCF Grant Program application guidelines to the public March 1, 2023 , with a grant submittal deadline of April 13, 2023;
WHEREAS, on April 13, 2023, the City Manager received thirteen (13) applications for FY 2023/24 funding consideration by the required deadline which totaled $120,700 in funding requests for the FY 2023/24 grant program year;
WHEREAS, on May 18, 2023, the San Pablo Community Foundation Grant Review Committee reviewed all grant funding requests received by the City for the FY 2023 /24 SPCF Annual Grant Program and recommends that the City Council award all 13 applicants grant funding for FY 2023/24; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deliberated on the recommendations from the SPCF Grant Committee for award of grants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the following grant from previously budgeted funds, and directs the City Manager to prepare a disbursement to be sent to the following organization by the first week of July, 2023:
