RESOLUTION 2023-
RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING MS. GENOVEVA CALLOWAY TO THE SAN PABLO
MEASURE S AND MEASURE K CITIZENS OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE FOR TERM JULY 17, 2023 TO JULY 16, 2027 AND DIRECTING STAFF TO POST A NOTICE TO FILL THE
TWO REMAINING VACANCIES
WHEREAS, the San Pablo voters adopted Measures S and K;
WHEREAS, the voter-approved measures call for the creation of a Citizens Oversight Committee (Committee) comprised of at least five (5) members who shall be either San Pablo residents or representatives of San Pablo businesses;
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Committee is to review and report on the receipt of revenue and expenditure of funds from the tax authorized by Measures S and K to ensure such revenues are spent in a manner consistent with the voter-approved measures;
WHEREAS, the first term of one current Committee member, Ms. Genoveva Calloway, expires on July 17, 2023, and there are currently two other vacancies on the Committee;
WHEREAS, staff posted a Notice of Vacancies on June 29, 2023 and received onl y one application since that time;
WHEREAS, Ms. Genoveva Calloway has submitted an application expressing her desire to remain a member of the Committee for another four -year term, and as a current San Pablo resident who has served only one term on the Committee, Ms. Calloway is eligible for reappointment for a second term under guidelines adopted by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo hereby reappoints Genoveva Calloway to the Citizens Oversight Committee for a four-year term from July 17, 2023 through July 16, 2027;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo hereby directs staff to post a new notice to fill the two remaining vacancies on the Committee; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing recitations are true and correct, and are included herein by reference as findings.
