RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN PABLO AUTHORIZING A MAPLE HALL FEE WAI VER IN THE AMOUNT OF $815 FOR THE SAN PABLO
COWBOYS YOUTH ASSOCI ATION (SPCYA) FOR ITS FUNDRAISING EVENT ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2023
WHEREAS, Major Policy Goals: Enhance Community Resilience and Build a Healthy Community are adopted policy items under the FY 2023 -25 Council Priority Workplan, effective May 1, 2023;
WHEREAS, this is not a project defined by CEQA;
WHEREAS, on July 12, 2023, A ndre Williams, President of SPCYA, submitted a letter to the City of San Pablo requesting the waiver of rental fees for the use of Maple Hall for a fundraising event on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm;
WHEREAS, SPCYA offers a diverse football and cheer program that provides approximately 100 San Pablo youth the ability to travel to numerous cities and compete against various football and cheer programs. Participants are rewarded for their accomplishments in athletics as well as scholastics to assure them that they are always winners just for taking the initiative to do their best. SPCYA is in their 9 th season of serving
West Contra Costa youth;
WHEREAS, the SPCYA has partnered with Peacemakers, Inc. and is currently operating under Peacemaker ’s 501(c)(3) status. City of San Pablo staff has received written verification of this partnership and Peacemakers, Inc’s 501(c)(3) status is in good standing;
WHEREAS, San Pablo City Council is requested to authorize a fee waiver of Maple Hall in the amount of $815 to hold the SPYCA’s fundraising event;
WHEREAS; SPCYA will provide adequate liability insurance associated with the use of the facility, pay the application fee and pay for the rental of AV equipment;
WHERAS; SPCYA will also pay for the cost of two Building Attendants and the cost of a Security Guard required to be present throughout the event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo authorizes the fee waiver in the amount of $815 for the San Pablo Cowboys Youth Association to hold its Fundraising Event on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
