RESOLUTION 2023-###
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN PABLO
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT NO.621 (1991 GMC ASPHALT PATCH TRUCK) AND NO.640 (JOHN DEERE DIESEL
MOWER) AS SURPLUS PROPERTY AT PUBLIC AUCTION PURSUANT TO SAN PABLO MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 3.16.120, WITH REVENUE FUNDS RECEIVED TO BE CREDITED TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 PROPERTY MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT OPERATING BUDGET (ACCOUNT NO.100-3410- 46300)
WHEREAS, Build a Healthy Community is a Major Policy Goal under the FY 2023-25 Council Priority Workplan effective May 1, 2023; and
WHEREAS, this is not a project as defined by CEQA; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department Maintenance Division (Maintenance) is responsible for road maintenance on local streets and road systems, and for maintaining park facilities throughout the City;
WHEREAS, Maintenance has a 1991 GMC asphalt truck (Vehicle 621) used for road maintenance such as paving and potholing, and a 2007 John Deere riding lawnmower (Vehicle 640) for lawn maintenance in City parks;
WHEREAS, the 1991 GMC asphalt truck is currently not in use due to extensive mechanical problems and is now inoperable due to a failed transmission;
WHEREAS, staff uses the 2007 John Deere riding mower to maintain City parks.
This vehicle is diesel powered and extremely heavy, making it unsuitable to execute work in wet areas as required;
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the 1991 GMC asphalt truck (Vehicle 621) and 2007 John Deere riding lawnmower (Vehicle 640) in its existing fleet be auctioned pursuant to San Pablo Municipal Code Section 3.16.120;
WHEREAS, Vehicle 621 has an estimated market value of approximately $1,500 to $3,000, and Vehicle 640 has an estimated market value of approximately $2,500 to $3,500;
WHEREAS, the revenue generated by the sale will be reflected in the Public Works Maintenance Equipment Replacement operating budget (100-3410-46300).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE City Council of the City of San Pablo authorizes the City Manager to sell Public Works equipment no. 621 (1991 GMC asphalt patch truck) and no. 640 (John Deere diesel mower) as surplus property at public auction pursuant to S an Pablo Municipal Code section 3.16.120, with revenue funds Resolution 2023-### Page 2
received from the sales of surplus equipment to be credited to the Fiscal Year 2023-24 property maintenance equipment replacement operating budget (account 100- 3410- 46300).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing recitation are true and correct and are included herein by reference as findings.
