Hello, Matt, and Charles:
We are excited to extend to the City of San Pablo the offer of working with us on the 3rd Annual Car Show: Lowriders at the Library on October 28th, 2023, from 11‐3 pm.
Partners currently on board to table and assist are: Contra Costa County Health Services offering vaccinations and emergency first aid for the event, La Familia, 4 Our Families Navigators, and San Pablo Police, along with the Outsiders Car Club. Antonio Medrano of the Friends of the San Pablo Library is again acting as our official representative for this outreach event.
Caroline Olsen is currently in communication with Primetime Nutrition management, and they will also be tabling with us to promote their programs.
Caroline and Junior are working closely with Captain Bubar to make sure the event is safe and enjoyable for everyone.
We are wrapping up finishing touches on the application and event insurance this week and looking to move to the promotional stage in the next few days.
We are hoping to continue this annual celebration of Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month as well as our library’s ongoing work with the San Pablo community. The Friends of the Library plans to host a book sale to raise funds for programs.
The library will be signing people up for library cards and advertising Project Second Chance and ESL groups.
Our goal is to promote the use of the library and its resources to the community.
