RESOLUTION 2023-
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN PABLO TEMPORARILY CREATING A SPECIAL C OUNSEL POSITION AND APPOINTING TERESA L.
STRICKER AS SPECIAL COUNSEL EFFECTIVE OC TOBER 16, 2023 THROUGH OCTOBER 26, 2023.
WHEREAS, in August 2023, the City of San Pablo’s current City Attorney, Teresa L.
Stricker announced that she has accepted a position as city attorney for another city;
WHEREAS, Ms. Stricker’s last day with the City is October 26, 2023;
WHEREAS, Ms. Stricker has agreed to stay on temporarily in the role as Special Counsel with the City from October 16, 2023 when the new City Attorney begins until October 26, 2023 to have overlap with the new City Attorney to ensure a seamless transition;
WHEREAS, in order to accommodate this, City Council desires to create a new, temporary Special Council position and appoint Ms. Stricker to that position from October 16, 2023 through October 26, 2023, her last day with the City;
WHEREAS, Ms. Stricker will receive the same salary and benefits as Special Counsel she is currently receiving as City Attorney;
WHEREAS, the cost for the two work week overlap between the outgoing city attorney and new city attorney to ensure a seamless transition, is already part of the City’s operating budget and no new appropriations will be needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo approves temporary the creation of a Special Counsel position, effective October 16, 2023 through October 26, 2023 in order to provide overlap between the outgoing City Attorney and incoming City Attorney to ensure a seamless transition;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo appoints Teresa L. Stricker to the position of Temporary Special Counsel effective October 16, 2023 through October 26, 2023;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Ms. Stricker will receive the same salary and benefits as Special Counsel that she is currently receiving as City Attorney.
