SAN PABLO BEACON COMMUNITY
In 2017-18 the City of San Pablo granted funds to lead agencies to implement Beacon Community Schools at all San Pablo schools.

SCHOOLS INITIATIVE 2019-20
“Beacon Directors are attuned with the community. They know what is important from a student perspective and from a parent perspective. That insight is helpful in identifying root causes and the right solutions. They are also critical in ensuring that our students and our families have access to resources when needed.” – District partner YOUTH

Connect their
communities with
resources
The community school strategy was essential during this challenging year with staffing transitions. Beacon Directors, school staff, and community partners effectively supported students and families because of the relationships and
systems they developed as part of the community school
strategy.

Beacon Directors supported group activities like sports teams, student clubs, and leadership groups to create a positive school culture and climate. They also infused health and wellness into school activities.
