RE.: SPARC PROJECT - ADDITIONAL SCOPE OF WORK REQUEST PROPOSAL
Dear Stan,
Per your request we offer the following additional scope of work for the SPARC Project in San Pablo, CA.
Please see the attached updated fee spreadsheet. The additional scope of work items are listed below:
- Section 1.5 Soils Testing – We will perform soils testing for asbestos, lead and CAM17 (heavy metals), volatile organic compounds, pesticides, diesel, gasoline, and motor oil on multiple samples around the site - $5,740.00. The resulting data will be sent to be reviewed by the City of San Pablo for direction on an approach if any contaminants are found.
- Section 1.9 Broadband Connectivity – We will investigate options to expand broadband connectivity at the site including the following options:
- A booster placed within the park to amplify the signal from the Contra Costa College (college).
- A relay placed within the college directing the signal to a new WIFI repeater placed within the park.
- An extension of the City’s fiber from Helms Middle School to the park with a new Ethernet switch and WIFI system.
The first two options will require coordination with Contra Costa College to verify they are okay with extending their broadband to serve areas outside the campus. The final option will require coordination with the City’s IT Department to establish a link that separates public and internal City traffic. We will document our findings in a memorandum format for consideration by the City.
At this time, we assume the City will proceed with either of the two options, which would have a total construction cost of between $3,000 and $10,000. Our fee to support this task is $4,128.00
- Section 2.5 Management and Outreach – Added $3,000.00 fee for Jill Mercurio, Mercurio Engineering per her conversation with Alan Panganiban for assistance with grant management and support during construction.
