RESOLUTION 2024-___
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN PABLO (1) ACCEPTING WORK PERFORMED BY PARC ENVIRONMENTAL FOR THE 2600 MORAGA ROAD ABATEMENT AND DEMOLITION PROJECT (0501) AS COMPLETE; (2) DIRECTING
CITY ENGINEER TO FILE A NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE COUNTY RECORDER; AND (3) RE -APPROPRIATING UNUSED FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $58,665 FUND BALANCE TO THE SAN PABLO DAM ROAD/GATEWAY PROJECT (0605)
WHEREAS, the 2600 Moraga Road site is to be redeveloped into a soccer park as part of the San Pablo Area Recreation Community Space (SPARC) Project;
WHEREAS, the SPARC project requires demolition of the existing abandoned school building structures on the site to build the park;
WHEREAS, the 2600 Moraga Road Abatement & Demolition Project (0501) is a major City project that proposes to abate and demolish multiple abandoned structures from a formerly used school site and make the site suitable for redevelopment into a City Park;
WHEREAS, the project was determined to be Categorically Exempt in accordance to Sections 15301 and 15332 of the CEQA Guidelines and a Notice of Exemption was filed with the County on March 18, 2021;
WHEREAS, City Council awarded a demolition contract for the 2600 Moraga Road Abatement and Demolition Project (0501) to PARC Environmental, of Fresno, California;
WHEREAS, the demolition work began on August 2023 and was completed by October 2023 in accordance with the Plans and Specifications;
WHEREAS, the final demolition contract has been determined to be $1,084,505 and PARC Environmental concurred with this amount;
WHEREAS, the City is holding 5% retention on this project;
WHEREAS, after the prescribed period of recordation of the Notice of Completion, the City will release the final retention payment;
WHEREAS, with the closing of the project, unused funds in the amount of $58,665 will be re-appropriated to the San Pablo Dam Road/Gateway Project (0605).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo hereby:
(1) Accepts work performed by PARC Environmental for the 2600 Moraga Road Abatement and Demolition Project (0501) as complete; Resolution 2024-___ Page 2
(2) Directs the City Engineer file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder’s Office for the 2600 Moraga Road Abatement and Demolition Project (0501); and
(3) Re-appropriates unused funds as follows:
