RESOLUTION 2024-___
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN PABLO APPOINTING MR.
JONATHAN LUONG TO THE SAN PABLO MEASURE S AND MEASURE K CITIZENS
OVERSIGHT COMMITTEES AND DIRECTING STAFF TO POST A NOTICE TO FILL THE
ONE REMAINING VACANCY
WHEREAS, the San Pablo voters previously adopted Measures S and K;
WHEREAS, the voter -approved measures each call for the creation of a Citizens Oversight Committee (Committee) comprised of San Pablo residents or representatives of San Pablo businesses;
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Committees is to review and report on the receipt of revenues and expenditure of funds from the tax authorized by Measures S and K to ensure such revenues are spent in a manner consistent with the voter-approved measures;
WHEREAS, any Committee member may be permitted to serve on both Committees at the same time and, in the event both Committees have overlapping membership, the Committees are authorized to undertake their duties in a coordinated manner;
WHEREAS, staff posted a Notice of Vacanc y on March 12, 2024, and received one application since that time;
WHEREAS, Mr. Jonathan Luong has submitted an application expressing his desire to be appointed as a member of the Committees, and as a current San Pablo resident, Mr.
Luong is eligible for appointment under guidelines adopted by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo hereby appoints Jonathan Luong to the Measure S and Measure K Citizens Oversight Committees;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo hereby directs staff to post a new notice to fill the one remaining vacancy on the Committees; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing recitations are true and correct, and are included herein by reference as findings.
