06.26.24 Dedicated to providing exceptional police service Since 2011, the City has contracted with ShotSpotter to install gunshot detection software which has been enhanced to cover much of the City of San Pablo. This technology has been integral in working with other assets (Public Safety Cameras) to solve many investigations including homicides and shootings. This technology has positively impacted public safety as continue to decline in overall violent crime in the City of San Pablo since 2011.

FISCAL IMPACT
The annual cost for ShotSpotter service renewal
is $135,509, with a total cost not to exceed
$406,527 over the three-year Agreement term as
documented in Exhibit A of the Agreement. The
annual expense of this Agreement will be
allocated, budgeted, and funded through the
Police Department’s operating budget
(Professional Services: 100-2110-43600).
The Police Department will seek authorization
from the City Council to enter into a three-year
service renewal agreement with SoundThinking,
Inc., subject to funding availability. The proposed
effective date of the Agreement is July 1, 2024,
renewed on an annual basis through June 30,
2027.
