RESOLUTION 2024-###
RESOLUTION OF THE CI TY COUNCIL OF THE CI TY OF SAN PABLO AUTHORIZING AN EVENT SPONSORSHIP IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 FOR THE SAN PABLO POLICE EMPLOYEES’ ASSOCIATION’S FOURTH ANNUAL SIERRA TWO G OLF CHARITY TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024
WHEREAS, on July 9, 2024 , the City Manager’s Office received a request for sponsorship from the San Pablo Police Employees’ Association (SPPEA) for its 4 th annual
golf tournament;
WHEREAS, the event will be held at the Wildhorse Golf Course in Davis on Saturday, September 21, 2024;
WHEREAS, the event is a scramble golf tournament to honor David Neece and his legacy as a father, a San Pablo Police Department Sergeant, and a friend. Sgt. Neece was a passionate SWAT operator; the event is named after his call sign, “Sierra 2”;
WHEREAS, the funds raised from this event are to benefit Sgt. Neece’s two children.
This year, a portion of the proceeds will also be donated in Sgt. Neece’s name to an organization that raises money for law enforcement families in need;
WHEREAS, this is not a project as defined by CEQA.
WHEREAS, the SPPEA is a non-profit, 501(c)(5) organization;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo approves a sponsorship in the amount of $1,000 for the 4 th Annual Sierra Two Golf Charity;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sponsorship in the amount of $1 ,000 will be funded from the Special Event Sponsorship Budget for F iscal Year 2024-25 (100-1110- 44050), leaving a remaining balance of $ 24,000 for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2024-25 for future sponsorships approved by the City Council.
