RESOLUTION 2024-###
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN PABLO AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEGAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY AND MURPHY & ASSOCIATES FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT LEGAL SUPPORT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $ 100,000 OVER TWO (2) FISCAL YEARS (FISCAL YEAR 2024 -25 AND 2025- 26), SUBJECT TO FUNDING AVAILABILITY.
WHEREAS, Nicole Murphy with Murphy & Associates has been providing legal services to the City and former Redevelopment Agency since 1998 and is very familiar and knowledgeable about economic development; the operations and projects of the former Redevelopment Agency; the ongoing redevelopment dissolutio n process mandated by the State, including the Long- Range Property Management Plan and financial reporting on the ROPS forms submitted to the California Department of Finance; housing projects; and previous bond financings;
WHEREAS, the contract amount of $ 100,000 authorized under the previous agreement with Murphy & Associates dated July 1, 202 2, has been nearly exhausted, and the City wishes to enter into a new agreement with Murphy & Associates for continued services for Fiscal Years 2024-25 and 2025-26, to align with the two-year budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the agreement with Murphy & Associates for legal services related to economic development in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) over two fiscal years (Fiscal Year 2024-25 and Fiscal Year 2025-26), budgeted as set forth below:
