Dear Mr. Rodriguez,
Contra Costa College would like to hold the Annual Managerial Retreat at the San Pablo Community Center on August 15, 2024. Given that the college is located in the city of San Pablo, I would like for our management team to spend more time in the city, developing a better understanding of the services and facilities available, as many do not live in San Pablo. I feel this is necessary to better serve the citizens of San Pablo and West Contra Costa County.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and the emergence from the lockdown, CCC has expanded basic needs services to students, many of whom are San Pablo residents. CCC provides free breakfast and lunch programs, a clothing closet, and has expanded the Full Time Free Tuition Program. We have also added a second cohort of the Puente program specifically for math and science, Puente MAS, a Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program, and now have a partnership with NASA!
As CCC strives to provide services that benefit the larger San Pablo community, the college is requesting a waiver of the facility rental fees and other optional fees for the seven-hour rental period on Thursday, August 15, 2024. The college frequently waives its own facility rental fees for nonprofit and community organizations, and it has been delighted to support the San Pablo Police Department's Annual Awards Ceremony by offering the Knox Center at no charge.
