RESOLUTION 2024-###
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN PABLO AUTHORIZING AN EVENT SPONSORSHIP IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500 FOR THE 2024 WEST COUNTY
SALESIAN YOUTH CLUB CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2024
WHEREAS, on August 26, 202 4, the City Manager’s Office received a n event sponsorship request for sponsorship from West County Salesian Youth Club (WCSYC) (formerly West Contra Costa Salesian Boys and Girls Club) for its annual golf tournament;
WHEREAS, the event will be held at the historic Richmond Country Club on Monday, September 16, 2024, and the tournament is their most significant fundraising event;
WHEREAS, for the past 75 years, the WCSYC has remained dedicated to ensuring that underserved children and teens in the communities of San Pablo and Richmond have access to quality af ter-school and summer programs that enhance their lives and shape their future;
WHEREAS, each year, over 3 ,300 youth participate in a broad range of programs which include leadership training, academic tutoring, computer skills, health instruction, arts, and sports;
WHEREAS, Build a Healthy Community: Foster Youth Leadership/Cultivation of the Next Generation of Civic Leaders is an adopted policy item in the FY 2023-25 City Council Priority Work plan, effective May 1, 2023; and
WHEREAS, this proposed action is not a project as defined by CEQA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Pablo approves a sponsorship in the amount of $2,500 for the annual West County Salesian Youth Club Charity Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Monday, September 16, 2024; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sponsorship in the amount of $ 2,500 will be funded from the Special Event Sponsorship Budget for FY 202 4-25 (100-1110-44050), leaving a remaining balance of $ 21,500 for the remainder of FY 20 24-25 for future sponsorships approved by the City Council.
