ROLLINGWOOD BACKGROUND CONTINUED
• The building itself is out of date and dilapidated. The impacts of COVID, lack of parking, moving to a new City Hall, and recent budget constraints have limited the City’s ability to get this facility to a usable public interfacing amenity anytime in the near future. • Instead, the city has been utilizing this facility as a storage space, which is a valuable asset, especially since storage is in short supply across most departments.
CURRENT STORAGE LOCATION BACKGROUND CONTINUED
• The Community Services Department (CSD) is also currently utilizing a space owned by the San Pablo Economic Development Corporation (EDC), 14501 Suite C San Pablo Avenue, for storage purposes.
• It is anticipated that this space will not be available long-term, prompting staff to consider moving items to the Rollingwood location.
• To make this transition possible, we will need to free up space at the Rollingwood location. This can be accomplished by surplusing some items currently housed inside the Rollingwood facility. • This will help to streamline storage needs and support EDC in repurposing their property.
