Honorable Mayor and City Council -
On behalf of the Marin Association of Realtors, we would like to share with you concern regarding your proposed extension of your Eviction Moratorium.
We all understand the impacts that COVID 19 has had on many folks in our community. We also know that renters and also rental housing providers have been impacted negatively. We are reaching out to you today to express our concern about extending this moratorium considering that many employees are back at work, yet rental housing providers are receiving little to no relief when it comes to their ability to make mortgage payments. The last thing we need at this point, is for rental housing owners to enter into foreclosure and both them and renters be left with no home.
As you consider this extension, please keep in mind the residual effects this extension will have on both renters and housing providers and its ability to hurt both parties.
