I would like to lend my support in banning Gas Leaf Blowers.
I have compromised lungs.
Every day I am challenged by the toxic fumes and noise levels of gas blowers.
Every Saturday when I am trying to relax in my backyard I am interrupted by hours of blowing. I am unable to enjoy my garden. I am unable to breath.
I understand that there is a 15 minute time limited to using gas blowers… which is totally un-enforcable.
There are gas blowers blowing for hours in my neighborhood. 45 minutes of blowing in one yard, then off to the next for another 30 -45 minutes.
I also live across from the Rotary Housing. Those blowers are going for hours without rest. A 15 minute time limit is laughable.
In Summer months I am forced to close all my windows and retreat in a non air conditioned house while the relentless noise and air pollution all around me happens every day but Sundays.
Many studies have been done on the ill effects of gas blowers.
Electric blowers do not pose the same risk and are a viable solution.
When putting beautified lawns over the documented health risk to our environment and personal health then its time to ban the offenders.
As a San Rafael homeowner I asked that you ban gas powered blowers.
