Hello, my name is Chris Kimiyaie and I am the owner of Wrap N Kabob located at 811 4th street in downtown San Rafael. First off I would like to say thank you for giving all of us business owners the opportunity to expand by permitting the parklets that we have had for the past couple of years. It has brought more light to our businesses and the city of San Rafael. I feel that this program has really helped us personally because we don’t have too many tables inside, so it helps expand the restaurant with more seating outside. I opened my business in 2021 and since I got approved for my parklet I have noticed that my takeout orders have decreased and dinning in has increased due to more seating being available. This has not only helped the numbers but it’s helped me to interact with more of my customers which I feel is important being a new business. I am truly grateful because these parklets have helped me to grow and has let a lot of my customers with dogs also be able to eat here because they are not permitted inside. I know that the city of San Rafael is working on passing the streetary program and I support it 100%. This will not only help our businesses to continue to stride but it will also help the city to bring more people from out of town to experience the scenery while eating at all the wonderful restaurants that San Rafael has to offer. I wanted to have this shared to whoever that needs to hear it because unfortunately I cannot attend this gathering due to work. I hope this program gets the green light and I am fully supportive and will do whatever I can to help it continue. Please give this program a chance and also if possible please lower the first couple of years of fees so it can be more affordable. If the application fee can also be waived that would be great! Thank you for listening to my input and hopefully we can continue as a city to grow and move forward in success for all of our futures! Thank you again!
