To: Distrib- City Clerk <[email protected]> Subject: 2/21/2023 Council Public Comment - Item 5.a Park Master Plan Mayor Kate and Members of the City Council,
I am writing to urge improvement of the public restroom facilities and Jean and John Starkweather Park as part of the Master Plan Update. The restroom has been closed for over two years (and the water fountain non-functional) with the only replacement being an intermittently-maintained portable toilet nearby.

This park is part of the San Francisco Bay Trail and is the last amenity point before users reach the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. To my knowledge there is not another public restroom or water fountain for some distance from this point. Because of this, I urge the inclusion of re-opening of this restroom in the Park Master Plan Update, as the only planned improvements to the park mention the boat launch of tables/benches.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
