Dear Mayor Kate and City Councilmembers,
My name is Aimee Velazquez and I live in Novato, but I am originally from 400 Canal. I am writing to ask you to take urgent and immediate action to pass tenant protections in San Rafael to stop the displacement, evictions, and unjust rent increases that are threatening our community, especially the Canal. I grew up there, and now I have the privilege to work there with the amazing community. My experience there has been nothing but positive, and continuously helps me be a better person. Please consider the hardworking, empathetic, and loving people of the community looking for a better life.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Aimee Velazquez
