Dear Members of the San Rafael City Council,
As a former teacher at Bahia Vista, volunteer with the Canal Alliance, and lifelong Marin resident, I am writing to ask you to take urgent action to pass tenant protections in San Rafael. The evictions, rent increases and displacement of residents especially in the Canal community impose harsh hardships on our friends and community workers who we depend on to keep Marin thriving. Please address this issue with the seriousness demanded.

Thank you for your consideration,
Sue DeVinny

To: Distrib- City Clerk <[email protected]> Subject: Written Public Comment: Tenant Protection 5/15 Dear Mayor Kate and City Councilmembers,
My name is Sindy Guevara and I live in Novato but grew up and lived in the Canal District for 20 years. I am writing to ask you to take urgent and immediate action to pass tenant protections in San Rafael to stop the displacement, evictions, and unjust rent increases that are threatening our community, especially the Canal. Due to the threat of gentrification, my family was forced out from our apartment in Canal. That is injustice. My family were not the only victims. There is a need to pass tenant protection because no one should go through what my family and neighbors went through.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Sindy Guevara
