Although I am late to get my comment into the meeting notes for tonight, I still want to email you and urge strongly that you vote no on the resolution as worded. We support the People's Plan, which is designed and proposed by a multiracial group of local community residents and leaders, many of whom have lived experiences with San Rafael Police Department's law enforcement system and its abusive practices. The People's Plan represents a more robust, authentic and transformative way to not only improve SRPD's system of accountability, but also lays the groundwork to transform its department's systems and culture in a meaningful and long-lasting way.
