To: Distrib- City Clerk <[email protected]> Subject: Public Comments June 5 Council Meeting Submission Good morning,
I would like to speak during the public comments at tonight's meeting and below are my comments.

I'd like to speak regarding the proposed 15-35 homes to be built on the parcel of land recently sold by Dominican University and the impact such a development would have on the environment and residents. I am concerned that without an approved housing element the build will be able to proceed without input and guidance from the city and residents. My concerns come both as a resident of the Dominican neighborhood and a California Certified Naturalist. Habitat loss and habitat fragmentation are contributors to climate and environmental crisis. Species displaced now have to fight for resources in a more limited area, breeding and hunting grounds are lost, along with the flora and fauna that exist in balance. Given that both the university and a previous developer considered land problematic to develop due to it's previous use as a dump, the grade of the hill, the ravine and a stream that passes through, my alarm bells start to ring wondering what the current developer would have to do to make the land suitable for building. How drastically will they have to chance the landscape, what sorts of destructive actions will need to be taken?
Over the decades much of the open, wild and wonderful places around Marin we all love and enjoy were slated for development. Thankfully residents pushed back and prevented the loss of what makes Marin beautiful. It appears it's now my time to ask you to join the ranks of these conservationists and fight to keep Marin wild.

To: Distrib- City Clerk <[email protected]> Subject: Public Comment for June 5th city council meeng Hi,
This is for public comment during the June 5th city council meeng.

Andersen Drive between Lindaro and Du Bois is quickly becoming the latest homeless encampment, with a dozen tents now lining the street and trash everywhere. Structures are now being built with foundaons and wooden sides. Each day that this is allowed to exist without any consequence, another tent emerges and temporary structures are added on to. Andersen Drive is no longer safe to walk down, and sits within eyesight of one of San Rafael’s largest employers (BioMarin).

When will the City Council direct our Police Dept. to stop allowing illegal housing along this drive before it gets even more out of control?
Best Regards,
Todd Moore
