With the upcoming repaving of Las Gallinas Avenue this year, it is the perfect opportunity to improve bicycle safety by adding a buffer to the bike lane. This would be within existing curb space and not impair car traffic or speed, and would be a necessary protective element for cyclists on the road. A buffer provides distance between bike and car traffic, reducing collisions and making it safer for bike riding, which would also take cars off the road and reduce traffic. Adding a protective barrier in areas without car parking would also greatly improve safety of cycling. Thank you for taking the time to read this comment.
