I am writing to you to voice my support for adopting Agenda Item 6: San Rafael Local Road Safety Plan. I walk and bike regularly in San Rafael and we need a Vision Zero perspective to make this city a better safer place for all of us, especially those of us not inside a car.
Honestly my only complaint is that I find the timeline isn't aggressive enough. 2050 is a solid 25+ years away, I hate to think of how many more people will die or be injured by automobiles in that time. I would really like to see more aggressive action on eliminating fatalities sooner! So I fully support this step, but also hope that we can try and aim higher by eliminating fatalities and severe injuries from automobiles sooner than 25 years from now!
