Subject: Public Comment Ordinance Regulating Camping

Please accept my endorsement of the San Rafael ordinance amending the City’s regulation of camping on public property. I believe this ordinance is in the best interest of the City, the campers, and the community of San Rafael. I support the City’s strong efforts to acknowledge Judge Edward Chen’s decision and have seen the City work tirelessly to create a solution that prioritizes the safety and dignity of the campers while also ensuring community and environmental safety. I am optimistic that the City’s survey of campers is a strong beginning to continued conversations that will help campers find better housing solutions in the coming year.
