Hello,
I saw that Ordinance 2035 is on the consent calendar, thanks to the Snapshot newsletter (although the newsletter says 2030 and links to last year’s ordinance).
I have fond memories of participating in a 24 hour Relay for Life in high school, where participants camped in the middle of the track during the relay. ref: https://secure.acsevents.org/site/DocServer/School+Guide.pdf?docID=29081 I can’t tell for sure if 2035, as written, would ban that type of camping on school property but I wanted to raise it as a potential concern. I suspect one night of camping by a homeless person is unwelcome on school property, but that students & community members doing it as part of an organized event would be encouraged.
Should school administrators be allowed to permit camping for special event participants? Something else?
Thanks,
Dan Jackson
