Dear Ms. Laumann,
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the West End noise permit.
I have felt fortunate to live on 5th street close to Marin Academy and benefited from the many live music performances over the past few years. During Covid this particular event was so important to keeping the community alive during the tough and dark times we all dealt with and for that I thank the city for their foresight in creating a beloved community event! Thank you for the events already held and so well attended.
Today we have an opportunity to continue these enriching music get togethers that 99.9% of the local community truly appreciates.
I would like to personally thank our city leaders for allowing us to chime in" and say yes we thank you and want you to continue this. Please make it so! The noise for a few hours a week a few months of the year pail to the opportunity to bring our community out to talk, get to know each other and figure out how to make our community even better.
There isn't one event on the West End in the past 3 years that does those things. Get local people into one place, talk, commune and invest in each other for 2 hours on Friday night.
None.
To the few folks that wish to deprive our community and fellow citizens of this opportunity to support our local businesses and each other, may I suggest that they go for a quiet hike in our amazing local woods (since they like the quiet) or walk a few blocks away and support a local restaurant or... realize these activities support and increase your property values...
I digress. Democracy is based on the will of the many.
Please note this local community member as a resounding YES to allowing Music Back to the West End!
(Feel free to contact me for any further comment or perspective. I do believe this is an important event and well loved by our community).
Thank you!
