In 2021 Cory Bytoff asked me to help keep track of illegally dumped items in the Spinnaker Point area of East San Rafael. Each day I drove along our streets and photographed illegally dumped items. Each month I made a map with the photos and descriptions and emailed the map to Cory and to the Spinnaker HOA Board. I was cataloging a many as 14 items per month in 2021. When the monthly bulky item drop off service began, the number of items dumped in Spinnaker dropped to 2 or 3 per month and is now down to 1 and sometimes none per month. It has made a big improvement in our neighborhood and anything we can do to reduce illegal dumping is big improvement in the quality of life for San Rafael.
