Thank you for involving the community in the TL Park and Community Center enhancement. I regret that I have not previously become engaged with the process since I live on Woodbine and use the current facility a couple of times a month. However, I am pleased with the way the plans are developing and look forward to seeing the creative solutions the team is working on.
My purpose is writing is to request that there be plenty of space and opportunity for community organizations to meet at TLCC on a regular basis. For the last 5-6 years the Marin Bonsai Club has rented one of the rooms for our bi-monthly meetings. The space and location of the Center are perfect for members we draw from around Marin County and beyond. It has been increasingly difficult to find spaces with enough elbow room to work on bonsai trees at an affordable price. The club does many outreach events in the community including bonsai classes, auctions and sales, and of course our exhibit at the Marin County Fair. We sincerely hope that there will still be a place for groups like ours to rent space and hold community events in the new iteration of the Terra Linda Community Center.
