Subject: West End Block Party
Ms. Smith:
I am writing to you today as a resident of the West End of San Rafael who lives at these in a dan a ever years dready or mad a friday dare riday and a l this application,
It creates a noise which is ever present and over powering. This noise is such that thoughts of other things becomes impossible. It totally dominates the space for several streets beyond 4th St. The noise is overwhelming
Since Mr. Violante, the applicant, is proprietor of The Pint Bar why doesn't he have the bands perform in his bar rather than on the street? Their is perhaps a pretense that the "block party" is for the benefit of the entire West End, when in fact the beneficiary is Mr. Vilante and his bar. I am not aware of other beneficiaries.
I am especially against this application on two additional grounds. I note that in past years when you have allowed this they did not begin until 6 pm and were done at 9pm, with these hours strictly enforced. Now the application calls for beginning at 5 pm and ending at 10pm. These two additional hours would mean that the residential side of San Rafael is effectively nullified for all of these fridays.
I also object to the two fridays in October which are requested, To grant these two days in October means in effect that I have to wait until December to fully enjoy the quiet of residential San Rafael.
Again, I stand completely opposed to this application to make this oppressive noise. Thanks Donald Campbell
