4. Other Agenda Items a. San Rafael Chamber of Commerce Agreement Good evening Mayor and Councilmembers.
I'm speaking regarding the agreement with the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce. In the scope of work, there is a line item stating that the Chamber "will, provide liaison support for homelessness-related concerns".
I'm asking for clarification and transparency around how that role is being carried out.
Specifically, I would like the City to require or request periodic reporting on:
• the types of homelessness-related concerns being raised by businesses,
• the kinds of situations or circumstances involving unhoused individuals that the Chamber is being asked to relay,
• which City departments this information is being directed to, anc • how that information is being used or acted upon.
At present, that line item exists in the agreement, but there does not appear to in a corresponding public reporting requirement. Given the sensitivity of hrimelessness-related issues and the potential influence this feedback may have on City actions, I believe it's important for the Council and the public to understand the nature and scope of what is being communicated — at least at a high, non-identifying level.
I am not asking for personal information or enforcement details, but for transparency about patterns, categories, and how this liaison role functions in practice.
