Mayor Kate called the meeting to order at 4:31 p.m. and invited public comment on agenda items; however, there were none.
1. Board, Commission and Committee Interviews
Interview Applicants and Make Appointments to the Park & Recreation Commission to October 2030 and the Public Art Review Board to October 2030 (CC) The City Council interviewed the following applicants for Park and Recreation Commission Committee: Dimitri Shikaloff, Douglas Sides and Masoud Nilforoush.
The City Council interviewed the following applicants for Public Art Review Board: Alexa Apallas, Carrie Montgomery, Morgan Schauffler, and Kristyn Merritt.
Following discussion, the City Council directed staff to appoint Carrie Montgomery to serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission for a term expiring at the end of October 2030. If she is not interested, staff was directed to continue recruitment for the vacancy.
The City Council reached consensus to reappoint Morgan Schauffler and Kristyn Merritt to the Public Art Review Board for terms expiring at the end of October 2030.
The City Council also directed staff to return with proposed amendments to the Public Art Review Board bylaws to modify the Board’s composition by removing the Parks and Recreation Commission voting member and adding an additional at-large member, and appointing Alexa Apallas to that at-large member term to the end of October 2030.
