2. PUBLIC HEARING
2.1 Joint City Council and Planning Commission Public Hearing: General Plan 2040 Update: Draft 2023 – 2031 Housing Element Comments and Mixed Use Density and Floor Area Ratio (FAR) Information (GPA 2021-0001)
Associate Planner Ryan Driscoll provided an overview of the staff report and introduced consultants Jim Harnish and Brent Gibbons, from Mintier Harnish.
Vice Mayor's motion to open the public hearing was seconded by Mayor Hudson. The motion passed 8-0-2-0. Cm. Perkins and Zafar were absent.
Public comment was received from Jonathan Singh, Sabina Zafar, Jim Blickenstaff, Jerry Hunt, Joyce Carr, Alicyn W., Call In User 1, Diana Korpi, Kameron Klotz, Paul Bickmore, and Susie Ferris-Inderkum.
Written public comment was received from Diana Korpi and Ralph Ballart.
Vice Mayor Verose's motion to close the public hearing was seconded by Mayor Hudson.
The motion passed 8-0-2-0. Cm. Perkins and Zafar were absent.
Mayor Hudson's motion to submit the 2023-2031 Housing Element to the California Office of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for their 90-day review was seconded by Vice Chair Alpert. The motion passed 7-1-2-0. Cm. Perkins and Zafar were absent.
